Abstract trauma coded charts using patient inclusion criteria, review medical records and collect the appropriate information based on national standard definitions and ACS verified methodologies

Identify the difference between coding for reimbursement vs. ISS

Document the abstract with all pertinent information, and calculate the Injury Severity Score appropriately

Submit data to the National Trauma Data Bank and state registries as required by level of trauma center

Validate data and provide IRR (inter-rater reliability) for trauma registry team

Manage the trauma program or the trauma registry team

Handle performance improvement including rounding with physicians as required

Ensure data is accurate and quality derived

Assist with trauma verifications and re-verifications
